Frequently Asked Questions & Maintenance
Q: Where do my local mirrored files go?
A: When you turn on Real-Time Local File Mirroring, Set Sidekick automatically writes shareable ChordPro copies of your songs, setlists, and index files directly to Files > On My iPad > Set Sidekick whenever you save [178–180]. This gives you a local folder to AirDrop or share individual charts on the fly.
Q: How do I clean up duplicate, draft, or accidental blank songs?
A: Under Library Maintenance, you can view counts for temporary imports and blank entries [169–170, 184, 186]. Tap Purge Temporary Imports to delete unprompted import drafts, or tap Purge Untitled Songs to clear out accidental blank entries from your database [185–187].
Q: What is the safest Backing Track Storage setting for live shows?
A: We recommend setting Backing Track Storage to Copied to This iPad. This copies your audio backing tracks directly into Set Sidekick’s local app storage on that device, ensuring reliable playback on stage without relying on cloud links or external file locations.
Q: How do I set up a silent visual metronome for stage count-ins?
A: Under Tempo / Metronome, set Feedback Type to Visual Flash Only. This gives you a clear visual pulse on screen without sending click audio into your stage monitors or room speakers.
Q: Why aren't my Sound Effects Pads showing up in Live Performance?
A: First, ensure Enable 6 Audio Pads is toggled ON under Configure Sound Effects Pads. Next, tap Open Pad Editor and make sure an audio file is assigned to the pad [170–171, 198, 200]. Unassigned pads remain disabled until audio is attached
